The aim for the Business Women Forum of Swaziland (BWFS) is to empower, promote and support women entrepreneurs through participation and skills development for sustainable economic development.

The Business Women Forum Swaziland (BWFS) is a membership-based organization, representing women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. The organisation was established is 2006, through funding from the International Labour Organisation and United Nations Development Program. The BWFS has since been operating under the umbrella of the Federation of Swaziland Employers & Chamber of Commerce (FSE&CC), which has been responsible for administration, implementation of programs and overseeing of the operations of the Forum. The forum is membership based and it is open to women in business, the corporate sector and informal sector.

With the vision is “to be the leading organization that fosters the development and economic empowerment of women in Swaziland”, the forum has since introduced meetings at Mountain Inn, which take place every first Tuesday of the month where we discuss issues relevant to business women in the country. Past topics have touch on critical issues such as the VAT Sekulala System which was presented by the Swaziland Revenue Authority (SRA) on the 6th of March 2018. For our next meeting, which is scheduled for the 15th of May 2018 at 17:30 at Mountain Inn, the Forum invited Ms. Doo Aphane who will be presenting on the topic; “Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Bill from the Perspective of the Employer”. The Forum aims to keep business women up to date on current issues happening in and around the kingdom of Eswatini.

Our Key Speaker, Doo is a feminist, who is passionate about social justice. She positions her work around levelling the playing field to make equality of opportunities and protection by the law a reality for women. Her varied areas of endeavour include the area of gender based violence. She is also founder and Director of Women to Women Development Consultancy working in Law, Feminism, Gender and Development.
